Knocking the Socks off a Local Yoga Studio

I’m a motivated do-it-yourselfer. In spite of the fact that building great websites puts food on my family’s table, I can’t help but admire business owners who embrace the DIY ethic and try to build their website.

But building and maintaining a good website is hard stuff. At the end of the day, what would you rather be doing? Spending time with family and friends, or trying to figure out web design?

Lisa from Inspire Yoga & Massage Studio in Mifflinburg, PA came to us with not one, but two homemade websites for her business plus a third service that handled online scheduling. She was ready to hand responsibility over to the pros and get back to focusing on the benevolent work of easing the hearts, minds and tense bodies of our friends in Union County, Pennsylvania!

Combining Websites without Losing SEO Ranking

The fact that Lisa had several websites posed a challenge. How can we merge all of the websites into a single entity without losing ranking and visibility? We solved this problem by creating a list of URL’s from both sites before building her new site. We made sure that we retained the link structure of the old sites where it made sense and created redirects when it did not.

When the new site launched we made sure to check Google Search Console regularly to ensure no crawl or index errors emerged in the process.

Content Writing

Copywriting (or content marketing as we’re calling it these days) wasn’t part of the original project specification because we’re not professional writers. We like to go above and beyond when we know a client can benefit from some special attention.

Inspire offers a variety of unique massage services and we thought it was important to describe them. We spent several days researching topics such as hot stone massage in order to build high-quality and reliably sourced content for Inspire that will help their patrons choose from their services and help Google rank their content.

Gift Certificates & Online Class Schedule

Lisa had two goals for her new website: the ability to sell gift certificates online and an online class schedule. (Ideally, they’d eventually like to use the site for appointment scheduling, too.)

Inspire sells gift certificates using WooCommerce. When a customer makes a purchase, the site emails a printable copy to the recipient for a simple, hands-off solution that doesn’t require tedious printing and mailing on the part of the owner.

Inspire’s class schedule is powered by The Events Calendar. Rather than depending on Facebook’s spotty communication with her clients, students can now check her website to see all of the classes she has scheduled for weeks in advance!

A No-Nonsense Mobile Experience!

Did you know that over half of online searches come from mobile devices? Did you know that Google’s search index is now mobile-first?

We don’t just stop at the bare minimum. For Inspire, we built a custom mobile experience that mimics a native mobile app. The website features a toolbar at the bottom, for fast and easy navigation, checkout and social sharing.
